In a stupefying and overtly gross political maneuver, the city council of Washington D.C. voted unanimously to deny patient’s rights by passing a bill making therapy for unwanted same-sex attraction for minors illegal. The bill was sought by the controversial leftist Human Rights Campaign (HRC) even as it has been stung by yet another high profile homosexual pedophilia case among its membership, this time at its highest echelon. With childhood sexual abuse being highly correlative to the development of homosexual attractions, the decision by this heavily Democrat council could not be in worst taste or more tragic.
Personal testimonies and pleas from formerly same-sex attracted individuals and counselors were brazenly ignored in favor of the Democratic Party aligned HRC, SPLC and PFLAG. Questions still linger regarding the SPLC’s incitement of terrorism against ex-gays after a supporter attempted to attack the conservative Family Research Council facilities, shooting a security guard. The HRC itself has been unrepentant about its goal of normalizing homosexual behavior even at the expense of victimized children raped into the gay lifestyle. This decision runs in direct conflict with the American Psychological Association’s oath to patient right to self-determination and basic human rights. As this decision is being made, already discredited homosexual activists are appearing at the United Nations in an attempt to goad the U.N. into also denying anyone the right to seek therapeutic assistance in changing their sexual attractions in a politically motivated maneuver to shut down discourse on ending same-sex attractions.
The pro-gay activists sponsoring the District of Columbia bill repeatedly pushed the idea that SOCE (Sexual Orientation Change Efforts) were harmful even though the American Psychological Association admits there is no such evidence beyond allegorical claims and the testimony of Rikin S. Mehta, senior deputy director of the D.C. Department of Health, admitted there was no record of complaints against SOCE therapists. Mehta, a former pharmacist and FDA drug policy advisor with a Juris Doctorate, was testifying in support of the bill anyway calling SOCE therapy “harmful, dangerous and counterproductive” in opposition to the licensed therapists fighting the ban, such as Voice of the Voiceless President and formerly same-sex attracted Christopher Doyle who testified against implementing the ban with eleven others.
This council decision is as damaging to the truth as it is to the minors now denied desired therapy or counseling by government decree. Only California and New Jersey have accepted similar restrictions as attempts in other states have failed. The irony could not be greater that such a bill was passed in the District of Columbia where sexually reoriented former homosexuals are a protected class. Homosexuals Anonymous looks forward to seeing this atrocious denial of the human right to self-determination overturned in the future.
